February 2008

This is all work finished in February 2008.

Lavender

Lavender

For a food piece about Lavender and it’s beneficial properties.

Home Birth

Home Birth

For a fascinating article about the new opinion that giving birth at hoome is apparently as safe as a hospital birth! It also talks about the fact that other benefits seem to outweigh the risk.

The Birds & The Bees

Sex Education

For a ‘Talking Point’ piece about sex education in British schools and the way the subject of ‘The Birds & The Bees’ is broached by parents.

Sex Education

…a closer look…

Sex Education

…and another.

Losing The Will to Exercise

Gym Enthusiasm

For an article about how, by February, many new years resolutions to exercise have fallen by the wayside, and how to avoid the inevitable lack of motivation when the New Year is not so new.

Eye Surgery

Eye Surgery

To illustrate an article about the pros and cons of laser eye surgery.

The Freewheelin Bob Dylan

Here’s my submission for the ‘Cover Band’ group show at Gallery 1988 in LA.

The brief was to pick a favourite album from Rolling Stone’s ‘500 Greatest Albums’ list and to ‘collaborate with the original cover art’.

Mine is the classic ‘The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan’ (obviously!).

There are loads of great artists involved so it should be an amazing show. Very exciting…I wish I could go!

Safari I/III

safari1

safari1d1

This is the cover of the LP ‘Electronic Frank’ (great name!) by Lee Jones, the main creative talent behind MyMy. It was the first of the 3 to be completed and a starting point for the other 2.
A link to the label to listen to the album is here.

Safari II/III

safari2

safari2d1

The second of the series and the cover of the first EP ‘Safari’ from the Electronic Frank album.
Listen to the ‘Safari EP’ here.

Safari III/III

safari3

safari3d1

..and this is the second release and the 3rd in the series. It will be called ‘Soon’ EP (I think)….I don’t know what it is exactly - there are hybrid antelopes that look like this but the stripes are very faint and only on the haunches. It’s a kind of Gerenuk. Or like a half Bongo, half gerenuk.

Malevolent Rays

Malevolent Rays

My last Talking Point piece before the summer break. The article was about skin cancer.
